Thepe


Ingredients

  • 400g: Thepe
  • 2: Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1: Small onion finely diced
  • 1: Small pepper finely diced
  • 1: Small garlic grated
  • Salt & pepper to season

Steps

  • Step 1

    Rinse the thepe with cold water and drain the water out using a salad spinner.

  • Step 2

    Heat the oil on medium heat and fry the onions until translucent, add the pepper & garlic and fry for 2min.

  • Step 3

    Increase the heat to high, add the thepe, stir into the onion mixture and cook uncovered for 10 min – the thepe will shrink considerably. Please ensure that you have as little liquid as possible.

  • Step 4

    Season and serve with papa/mealie pap.
